Report: Spurs-linked Ajax star is awaiting offers this summer

Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek will consider a move to the Premier League this summer and is likely to leave the Dutch giants, according to Sky Sports.

The Sun claimed in March that Tottenham are interested in signing Van De Beek, as Jose Mourinho’s side look to improve the quality of their midfield options.

Sky report that Ajax are yet to receive any offers for the 23-year-old, who was said to have been close to a move to Real Madrid before the coronavirus it.

Manchester United have also previously been credited with an interest in the player who came through the ranks at the Dutch giants.

Van de Beek caught the eye during Ajax’s impressive Champions League campaign in 2018/19 and scored the only goal of the game in the semi-final first leg against Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It is said that van de Beek is happy to remain in Amsterdam with Ajax preferring that any potential exit is concluded before their Eredivisie opener against Sparta Rotterdam on September 13.

Van De Beek could add more creativity to Tottenham’s midfield from deep areas, which is something which is lacking from Mourinho’s current squad.
