Report: Spurs looking to tie up deal for Argentine in January

Tottenham Hotspur have heavily relied upon Christian Eriksen to be the club’s creative influence and maestro in the attacking half of the pitch over recent seasons.

The Dane has provided 61 assists in Spurs colours over 216 Premier League matches for the club.

After revealing in the summer that he wanted to leave the North London club to see a new challenge whilst admitting he would be interested in hearing from Real Madrid, a move never materialised.

Spurs bolstered their options in the summer by recruiting Giovano Lo Celso on a season long loan deal from Real Betis.

While the Argentine has already missed a large chunk of the opening part of the campaign, he did impress during the recent Champions League match away to Red Star Belgrade where he scored his first goal for the club.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Betis are expecting Mauricio Pochettino to sign Lo Celso permanently in January for around £27.5milion.

It is reported that Spurs can speed up the deal to January, and pay €32million (£27.5million) instead, saving themselves a small chunk of cash.
