Report: Spurs misfit could be set for Premier League stay

Vincent Janssen could be set for a stay in the Premier League following reported interest from Cardiff City.

According to The Sun, Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock is ready to battle Real Betis to land the Dutch international. Betis have already opened talks with Spurs over a loan deal until the end of the season with the option to buy for a fee of £15million.

The 24-year-old forward has been deemed surplus to requirements at Tottenham Hotspur and is expected to leave the club before the transfer window closes at 11pm this evening to kick start his career.

Janssen underwent foot surgery in the summer and has been featuring in recent weeks for Tottenham’s Under-23 side in order to build up some match fitness to make him more of an attractive proposition to potential clubs.

Cardiff’s striking options have been well documented following the tragic circumstances surrounding the disappearance of new signing Emiliano Sala.
