Report: Spurs monitoring contract situation of Bayern Munich player

Tottenham Hotspur hold an interest in Bayern Munich central defender Jerome Boateng, according to reports from Germany.

Bild‘s head of football Christian Falk has revealed that Spurs are among a number of Premier League clubs who are monitoring the 32-year-old’s situation at the Bundesliga giants.

The German international has started six of Bayern’s seven Bundesliga matches this season (transfermarkt) and is set to be out of contract next summer.

Falk claims that Boateng is refusing to negotiate a contract extension which has led to Jose Mourinho keeping an eye on developments.

Tottenham currently have a number of central defenders on their books including Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld while Ben Davies is also able to slot into the heart of the defence and the club also bolstered their options with summer signing of Joe Rodon from Swansea City.

Boateng revealed in 2018 that he rejected the advances of Mourinho to take him to Old Trafford while he was in charge at Manchester United (Sky Sports).
