Tottenham Hotspur are rumoured to be making a late move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
Portuguese news outlet RTP claim that Spurs have flown two club officials out to Lisbon to hold talks with Sporting president Frederico Varandas ahead of the transfer window closing next Thursday.
Fernandes has also attracted interest from Premier League rivals Manchester United after netting 32 goals and providing 18 assists from the heart of the Sporting midfield last season (Express).
Sky Sports News have reported that Fernandes is being considered as a potential alternative to Real Madrid’s Giovani Lo Celso who has been heavily linked with a move to North London however a move has yet to materialise.
Lo Celso is keen to make the move to Tottenham but both clubs have been unable to agree on a transfer fee, with Betis said to be holding out for around £55million.
Spurs certainly need to add a creative player to their ranks before the transfer window closes and it remains to be seen if Levy is trying to play both clubs of against each other in order to get the best deal.
