Report: Spurs and Liverpool planning £35m raid on Premier League rival

Tottenham are planning a £35 million move to sign West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice, reports the Daily Express, but they might have to battle Premier League rivals Liverpool for his signature.

Rice signed a five-and-a-half-year deal in December with the Hammers but this hasn’t stopped Tottenham in their pursuit of the academy product.

Tottenham would be able to offer Rice the opportunity to play regularly in elite European competition, along with the opportunity to play in a 62,062 capacity seater state of the art stadium compared to his current situation of playing for a side who typically occupy the lower end of the table and play in a stadium which is not suitable for football.

The paper reports that Spurs are preparing for the potential exit of Christian Eriksen this summer with Real Madrid keen on the former Ajax playmaker.

The Dane has just 17 months left on his contract in North London and has yet to agree to a contract extension.
