Report: Spurs players are fearful Kane could leave Spurs for this reason

The Telegraph are reporting that Tottenham Hotspur players are fearful that Harry Kane could decide to leave the club if their trophy drought continues.

Kane returned to action after a month on the sidelines with ankle ligament damage for the match at Burnley last weekend and has seen their title hopes ended in the space of four days.

Defeats to Burnley and Chelsea have put the chances of a first league win since 1960/61 realistically behind Spurs with Kane said to have been devastated at the situation.

Whilst he was injured, Spurs also suffered exits in the Carabao Cup semi-final to Chelsea and limped out of the FA Cup at Crystal Palace.

Spurs take a 3-0 advantage into their Champions League second leg against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side not considered to be realistic contenders for the trophy.

The report admits that Kane is unlikely to ask to leave in the summer, but pinpointed the summer of 2020 as a key time with the star striker having then played a season at the new stadium and will turn 27.

Kane said in December: The stage we are at now as a team, it is the next step for us. We have to start winning trophies.”

Spurs fans are just as eager for trophies to be won in N17 after a ten-year drought and will be hoping that Kane is there to lift them.
