Report: Spurs ‘primed and ready’ to launch bid for La Liga winger

Tottenham Hotspur are considering making an offer for Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Lemar.

The Sun claim that Spurs along with London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal are mulling over whether to bring the Frenchman to the Premier League.

Atletico are said to be holding out for a bid of £51million to allow the 24-year-old to leave the club in the January transfer window.

Lemar has struggled at Atletico since joining from Monaco in 2018 and was left out of their squad for their 0-0 draw against Leganes on Sunday having missed training through illness in the week (The Sun).

The winger has not featured for his club since the 2-1 win over Real Betis on December 22 after suffering a hamstring injury.

Spurs have been heavily linked with another winger, with PSV’s Steven Bergwijn said to be on the verge of a move to North London after both sides agreed a fee said to be in the region of £27million (BBC).
