Report: Spurs said to be locked in talks to sign 6’4″ midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be holding talks with negotiations with Genk over the permanent transfer for midfielder Sander Berge.

Due to uncertainties over the future of Mousa Dembele, who is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with a big money move to China (The Sun), Mauricio Pochettino is looking at bolstering his midfield options by bringing in Berge according to Tuttomercatoweb.

Victor Wanyama’s ongoing knee problems have seen him only start once Premier League game for Spurs this season which has seen Harry Winks and Moussa Dembele play more frequently over the festive period without being able to give them a rest.

The report claims that the two clubs have been locked in talks for the past few days over a €25million (£22.5million) with one potential stipulation being that he spends the rest of the current campaign with the Belgian club.

Berge, 20, already has earned 12 senior international caps with Norway.
