Report: Spurs set to hold medical tomorrow ahead of first signing of the summer

Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will undergo a medical with Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow, according to Sky Sports.

The Danish international looks set to become Tottenham’s first signing of the summer after a deal of £15million plus bonuses was agreed with the Saints.

The 25-year-old was previously the subject of a £25million offer from Everton which was accepted by Southampton with Hojbjerg having travelled to Merseyside to visit their Finch Farm training complex to discuss personal terms (Daily Echo) but Hojbjerg had his heart set on a move to North London.

Hojbjerg was stripped of the Southampton captaincy after making it clear that he would not extend his deal which had a year left to run and have decided to cash in rather than risk losing him for free at the end of the next campaign (BBC).

Hojbjerg has previously liked a post from SPORT1 journalist Florian Plettenberg which claimed that he had heard that Spurs is the club which the midfielder wants to join this summer.

Everton have also been heavily linked with a move for the 24-year-old, but it appears that his heart his set on a move to North London.
