Report: Spurs set to make further attempt to sign Serie A player in January

Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano expects Tottenham Hotspur to make a further attempt to prise Milan Skriniar away from Inter Milan in January.

Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer chief Steve Hitchen was photographed in Milan last month in which Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed he was in the Italian city to discuss a deal for the central defender.

Skriniar was reported to have been keen to make the move to the former Champions League finalists (Football.London).

Romano claims that while Tottenham may look to return to the negotiating table, Inter are said to stand fast with their €60million (£53.7million) valuation of the Slovakian international.

Romano took to Twitter retweeted a post, appearing to give his endorsement from a Spurs fan account that he had made the claim.

Spurs are thought to be in the market for a new central defender and have also been linked with a move for Swansea City’s Joe Rodon (BBC).
