Report: Spurs set to pull off major transfer coup with influential arrival

Reports from France are claiming tonight that they expect Luis Campos to join Tottenham Hotspur.

Campos is currently the sporting director at Lille and according to Canal +, he made a formal request to leave the French club on Monday under his current position as Sporting Director.

Campos has been sporting director at the Ligue 1 outfit since 2017, helping them return to the Champions League, having helped unearth some of Europe’s best talents while at Monaco from 2013.

He has found and sold on talent in excess of £500m, including Kylian Mbappe, Nicolas Pepe, James Rodriguez, Anthony Martial, Fabinho, Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy (Sky Sports).

talkSPORT reported in November that Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have all made enquiries about his availability in recent years.

Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho is said to be close friends with Campos with the pair having worked together during their time at Real Madrid (Football.London).
