Tottenham Hotspur fans have become increasingly worried about Christian Eriksen’s future at the club.

The Dane has just over a year left on his current deal in North London and progress had been slow for a breakthrough in the negotiations.

A report by suggests that there has significant progress has been made between Spurs and Eriksen’s representatives over the past few weeks and there is hope that a deal can be reached before the summer.

Eriksen currently earns £80,000-a-week at Tottenham which is modest when compared to other players of his calibre in the Premier League.

Spurs are said to be prepared to at least double his salary which will put him on a wage similar to Dele Alli, who signed a new six-year deal worth around £150,000 a week in October (Standard).

The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, with Zinedine Zidane keen to overhaul his squad after a disappointing campaign. (Metro)

  1. Pretty hard for Levy to ink a new deal with Ericksen with Woodward’s nonsense statements hanging in the air.
Woodward stated he was prepared to treble Ericksen’s salary but this is of course, just so much smoke & mirrors until Woodward actually makes an offer. It would be foolhardy for Levy to respond to this unsubstantiated offer. Woodward’s propensity for duplicity and deceit is well known (witness the Alderweireld promises last summer). At the same time, one cannot blame Ericksen for wanting to see if Woodward will actually make an offer. It’s unlikely. By the time the summer window opens, Man U.will be “linked” to close to 20 players – 3 or 4 of whom they will pursue.
