Report: Spurs star could finally be set to commit his future to the club

Tottenham Hotspur fans have become increasingly worried about Christian Eriksen’s future at the club.

The Dane has just over a year left on his current deal in North London and progress had been slow for a breakthrough in the negotiations.

A report by Goal.com suggests that there has significant progress has been made between Spurs and Eriksen’s representatives over the past few weeks and there is hope that a deal can be reached before the summer.

Eriksen currently earns £80,000-a-week at Tottenham which is modest when compared to other players of his calibre in the Premier League.

Spurs are said to be prepared to at least double his salary which will put him on a wage similar to Dele Alli, who signed a new six-year deal worth around £150,000 a week in October (Standard).

The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, with Zinedine Zidane keen to overhaul his squad after a disappointing campaign. (Metro)
