Report: Spurs star held at knifepoint and thumped in face following burglary

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli was the victim of a burglary at his home in Barnet during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The Daily Mail claim England international was held at knifepoint and thumped in the face but did not suffer serious injuries or require treatment at hospital.

The two criminals gained access to the property through the back of the house and were involved in an altercation with the 24-year-old which saw the opportunists take valuables including watches, jewellery and other items before fleeing.

Dele is isolating at the property with his girlfriend Ruby Mae, brother Harry Hickford and his partner and another friend with all said to have been left shaken by the incident.

The property is covered by CCTV and footage was handed to the police after they were called to the address just after midnight. They have confirmed that no arrests have been made as of yet, with investigations continuing.

A police spokesman told the Daily Mail: ‘Police were called at approximately 00:35hrs on Wednesday, 13 May to reports of a robbery at a residential address Barnet.

‘Two males gained entry to the property and stole items of jewellery, including watches, before fleeing.

‘One male occupant of the property, aged in his 20s, suffered a minor facial injury after being assaulted. He did not require hospital treatment.

‘No arrests; enquiries into the circumstances continue.’
