Report: Spurs to make first signing this week

Tottenham Hotspur will sign Leeds United winger Jack Clarke this week following negotiations between both clubs.

The Sun report that the 18-year-old will move to North London after an £8.5million fee was agreed which includes add-ons for the Elland Road outfit.

Clarke caught the eye during his first season of senior football for Leeds last season despite making 20 of his 25 appearances from the bench, whilst scoring two goals and providing two assists.

The 18-year-old was voted the club’s Young Player of the Season for the 2018/19 campaign, despite only claiming his first start back in January.

Spurs are lacking talent in wide areas after previous experiments with Clinton N’Jie and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou have failed miserably

It remains to be seen if the deal will include an agreement for Clarke to return to Leeds next season on loan to gain further first-team football experience as it seems unlikely that he would immediately force his way into Mauricio Pochettino’s starting eleven.
