Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to bolster their defensive options during the summer transfer window.

The club are currently without a fit and available senior left-back following Danny Rose’s January exit to Newcastle on a loan deal for the remainder of the season while Ben Davies missed the 1-1 draw at Burnley yesterday evening with a rumoured hamstring injury (Alasdair Gold).

90min claim that Jose Mourinho is keen on making a move for Glasgow Rangers left-back Borna Barisic.

The report suggests that the Champions League finalists are preparing for life without Jan Vertonghen, who is out of contract in the summer while they are also keen to offload Rose before his contract expires in the summer of 2021.

The Scottish giants are said to be wanting in excess of £22m to part company with the 27-year-old who made the move to Ibrox from Croatian outfit NK Osijek in 2018.

Tottenham scouts are rumoured to have cast the net wide in their search for a replacement and have been left impressed by what they have seen from the Rangers player.
