Report: Spurs transfer target set to decide on his future

Tottenham Hotspur were heavily linked with a move for PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot during the January transfer window only for a move to fail to materialise.

Reports in January claimed that Spurs were keen to bring the player to North London but he would rather join Liverpool or Barcelona (L’Equipe).

The French midfielder is out of contract with the Ligue 1 Champions in June and is expected to leave the club on a free transfer.

Spurs still retain an interest in the 24-year-old who is also wanted by Juventus and Real Madrid report Tuttosport.

ESPN had previously reported that Rabiot was not keen on a move to North London as he considered Spurs to be ‘below’ his level. It remains to be seen whether he has now changed his mind considering Spurs have made it through to the Champions League final.

Rabiot is set to make a decision on his future in the coming days and one area in which Spurs could struggle to compete with Juventus and Real Madrid is to meet his wage demands.

With no transfer fee to pay, Rabiot is likely to command a hefty salary in the same manner as what Aaron Ramsey did when he decided to leave Arsenal to join Juventus on an eye-watering £400,000-a-week (Standard).
