Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up whether to make an approach for Barcelona full-back Emerson ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old right-back has spent the season on loan at fellow La Liga outfit Real Betis this season and has made 23 appearances in the Spanish top flight, scoring three goals and providing five assists (transfermarkt).
Emerson is co-owned by both Barcelona and Betis having joined the Catalan giants from Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro in a deal worth around £11million in January of last year (The Sun).
Barcelona have the option to own him outright if they pay £5million and Spurs are said to be ready to test their resolve of whether to cash in (Mundo Deportivo).
Spurs have found themselves short of senior options on the right-hand side of their defence after deciding against replacing Kieran Trippier who made the move to Atletico Madrid last season.
Serge Aurier has found himself as Jose Mourinho’s first choice in the position with academy graduate Kyle Walker-Peters having joined Southampton on loan for the remainder of the campaign in January.
