Report: The club-record transfer fee which Spurs need to pay to land target

Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is already on track to be this summer’s ‘Jack Grealish’.

Ndombele revealed to French news outlet Telefoot at the weekend that he would be keen to join ‘big club’ Spurs.

The Frenchman starred for Lyon last season, establishing himself as one of the most dominant central midfielders in Ligue 1.

Sky Sports are this evening reporting that Tottenham must part with up to £62miillion if they want to land the 22-year-old and insist a deal is not close to being agreed between both clubs with Daniel Levy and Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas both known to be tough negotiators.

Ndombele’s contract at Lyon runs until 2023 and the club are looking to profit as much as possible from deal with former club Amiens set to receive 20 per cent of the fee (Daily Star).

The midfielder insisted in his interview with Telefoot that he will make a decision on his future after he returns from a holiday in July.

Spurs will certainly have to be wary of taking their time to complete a deal with Italian giants Juventus also a fan of the player, according to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio.
