Report: The three areas Spurs are looking to strengthen before the window closes

Tottenham Hotspur have already been active during the January transfer window having recruited Gedson Fernandes.

The 21-year-old moved to North London on an 18-month loan deal from Benfica which includes the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the loan period (BBC).

The Telegraph claim that Spurs are expected to be active before the window closes next Friday.

It is suggested that the North London outfit are looking to potentially bolster three different areas within Jose Mourinho’s squad.

Harry Kane suffered a hamstring tear on New Year’s Day and had to undergo surgery which will keep him out of training until April.

Moussa Sissoko’s knee also saw him go under the knife and is expected to return during the same month as Kane.

As a result, Spurs are looking to bring in a forward to try and fill Kane’s absence along with a defensive midfielder.

The right-back postion is also an area of focus for Tottenham with speculation suggesting that Kyle Walker-Peters could be on his way out of the club (The Sun)
