Report: Tottenham make contact with club over 13-goal forward

Tottenham Hotspur are reported to have opened talks with Mainz for striker Robin Quaison.

The 26-year-old front man is said to be wanted by Tottenham as an extra option to their front line.

Jose Mourinho’s side were left short of attacking options last season when Harry Kane and Heung-min Son were both sidelined with respective hamstring and arm injuries.

German news outlet Bild claim that Spurs have made contact with the Bundesliga outfit to enquire about Quaison’s availability.

Quaison scored 13 goals and assisted two more in 32 appearances in the German top flight last season (transfermarkt).

The Swedish international, who is also comfortable playing on the left flank is entering the final year of his contract at the Opel Arena.

Bundesliga.com described Quaison’s style similar to that of Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabry.

Tottenham completed their first deal of the summer earlier this week with the arrival of midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton.
