Report: Tottenham’s hopes of signing rumoured target may have improved

Tottenham Hotspur are once again being linked with a move for Ajax midfielder Hakim Ziyech.

CalcioMercato claim that the Moroccan international has been given permission to seek a move away from the Dutch giants club this month, if his asking price is met.

Ajax are seeking £43million [€50m] for the winger who caught the eye in the Champions League last season which included him scoring against Tottenham in the second leg of last season’s semi-final in Amsterdam.

Ziyech has been linked with a move to Spurs in the past as a potential replacement for Christian Eriksen, who is out of contract at the club at the end of the season (90min).

The 26-year-old has once again impressed this season after scoring eight goals in 28 matches in all competitions whilst providing a remarkable 21 assists (transfermarkt).

Spurs could face stiff competition from North London rivals Arsenal, with the report claiming that new Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has been alerted by his potential availability.
