Report: Transfer target informs Spurs he will not be joining them

According to reports, Adrien Rabiot has this evening contacted Tottenham Hotspur to inform them that he will not be making a move to North London.

French news outlet L’Equipe, the PSG player has snubbed the opportunity to play under Mauricio Pochettino.

The Spurs boss was said to have held a telephone conversation with Rabiot on Wednesday to try and convince him to make the move but appears to have failed in his hopes.

Rabiot, 23, will become a free agent in the summer and PSG sporting director Antero Henrique has already confirmed that the player had refused to sign a new contract in December.

Barcelona had been heavily linked with a move for the midfielder but have recently signed Ajax’s Frenkie de Jong.

Liverpool have also been credited with interest and a report in the Express suggests that he would prefer a switch to Anfield over Spurs if he were to decide to make the switch to the Premier League.

Rabiot is regarded as one of Europe’s brightest young midfielders and it would represent a huge blow to Tottenham’s transfer aspirations ahead of the transfer window closing on Thursday night.
