Report: West Ham take an interested in reported Spurs target

West Ham United are said to have turned their attention to Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson in their efforts to recruit a new front man (The Sun).

The England international has previously been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur as part of the North London club’s interest in both himself and his Cherries team mate David Wilson (The Sun).

The report claimed that Spurs were hopeful of landing him for £40million this summer with the club looking to add competition and cover for Harry Kane.

West Ham have switched focus to Wilson, who has scored 58 goals in 148 appearances for the south coast outfit after it appears that Maxi Gomez will be staying at Celta Vigo.

Tottenham could be tempted to bring in another forward this summer with Fernando Llorente’s contract expiring this summer and there has been no announcement as of yet whether he will be offered a new deal or will leave on a free.

Opinion

There is no doubt that Spurs need another player to help take the goalscoring burden off Harry Kane’s shoulders. However, many players will be wary of making the move if they already know that they are likely to be second choice behind the prolific forward.
