Reported Spurs summer transfer target signs five-year deal

Tottenham Hotspur dusted off the chequebook during the summer transfer window with Daniel Levy dipping into his pocket on four occasions.

Jack Clarke, Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon all headed through the door at Hotspur Way ahead of the new campaign.

A number of players were heavily linked with a potential switch to North London during the window, one of the most prominent being Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo.

Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport claimed that the North Londoners made a £20.6m cash offer for the highly-rated 20-year-old which also included Toby Alderweireld.

Roma have now confirmed that Zaniolo has put pen to paper on an extension which will keep him contracted to the Serie A side until 30th June 2024.

The former Inter Milan player impressed for the Giallorossi last season having made thirty-six appearances and scoring six goals.

With the Italian transfer window remaining open until September 2nd, it remains to be seen whether they will make another approach for Alderweireld.
