Tottenham Hotspur will be told to pay £45million if they wish to sign Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure, according to the Watford Observer.
The French midfielder has been lined up as a potential replacement for Mousa Dembele and caught the eye in the Hornets side last season, where he scored seven goals and was named both the ‘Player of the Season’ and ‘Players’ Player of the Season’ at the club.
Dembele has just twelve months to run on his current deal at Spurs and has been linked with a move to a host of clubs from Italy, France and China.
Watford are aware that Doucoure is on the shopping list of a number of clubs, including Tottenham and have placed the valuation on the player in the hope of fending off interest.
Doucoure joins the likes of Jack Grealish and Geoffrey Kondogbia in being linked with a move to Mauricio Pochettino’s side, but at the time of writing, we remain the only Premier League club who are yet to make a signing during the current transfer window.
