Roma striker on verge of Spurs switch?

Roma striker Mirko Vucinic is said to be close to a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The 27-year-old Montenegro international is on the verge of a switch to White Hart Lane in a deal worth around £13million if rumours on the net are to be believed.

Redknapp has already expressed his interest in signing Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor on loan but his £170,000 a week wages are causing a problem and City would rather offload him on a permanent basis.

The Spurs boss knows he has to strengthen his squad if the club have any hope of mounting a challenge for the top four next season and also to persuade Luka Modric of the club’s ambition.

Since joining Roma in 2006 Vucinic has scored 46 goals in 147 appearances.

  1. anybody must be better then what we have.if hes breathing ,buy him.hes scoreing nearly 1 goal every 3 matches.so that could be 12 goals in season.not far off what our resident shower scored between them.another striker and a c/h and we could be a top 4 team.

  2. Vucinic scored 11 goals for Roma last season. Might as well stick with Crouch and settle halfway up the table. I mean what is the point in signing this bloke??

    • The difference is that Vucinic has been played out of position on the wings, he's a quality player. My bet is 20 goals next season with 15 in the league.
