Roy Keane describes Tottenham Hotspur pair as ‘dumb and dumber’

Roy Keane has launched a damning assessment of the two full backs who played for Tottenham Hotspur against Liverpool.

Keane was asked by presenter David Jones about how difficult it is for Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino to work with Danny Rose and Serge Aurier compared to Liverpool’s options of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson.

The former Manchester United midfielder lived up to his reputation of pulling no punches when he described Rose and Aurier as ‘Dumb and Dumber’.

At 7:19pm on Sky Sports Premier League TV channel (27/10/19), Keane said: “Chalk and cheese. The two Tottenham full-backs were dreadful. Dumb and dumber I call them. I thought they were really poor, you cannot compare them to the Liverpool two lads who were absolutely fantastic.

“The two full-backs today for Liverpool particularly going forward, okay there are parts of their game defensively they can improve but going forward absolutely fantastic and the two full-backs for Tottenham, I thought they were a joke, really abysmal.

Aurier was at fault for giving Liverpool a chance to take the lead late in the second half when he clipped Mane in the penalty area and Salah made him pay for his error by scoring what proved to be the winning goal.

Rose, who is going through some of his worst form in a Spurs shirt was defensively out of position for the vast majority of the match and left Jordan Henderson free at the back post for the Liverpool skipper to cancel out Harry Kane’s opener.
