Scott Parker is officially a Spurs player

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of Scott Parker from West Ham United.

A statement on the official Spurs site read: “We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with West Ham United for the permanent transfer of Scott Parker.

“The England international’s impressive displays for West Ham last season saw him named the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year.

“The midfielder began his career with Charlton Athletic, making his debut in 1997 aged just 16, before joining Chelsea in January, 2004 and was crowned PFA Young Player of the Year at the end of the 2003/04 campaign.

“Parker, who has represented England at every level from Under-16 through to senior, joined Newcastle United in June, 2005 and went on to captain the side during two seasons at St James’ Park.”
