“Second in a two horse race that we’re not even in” – Former Spur hits out at doubters

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder David Howells has taken to Twitter to mock the doubters who ruled Mauricio Pochettino’s side out of the title race.

A late 1-0 win at Wembley against Newcastle United saw Spurs move up to second in the Premier League table at the expense of Manchester City, who face Arsenal this afternoon.

The gap has also been closed to just four points on league leaders Liverpool, who play West Ham United on Monday night with the chance to extend it back to seven.

With Tottenham occupying second place, Howells wasted no time in taking the opportunity to make everyone aware that we are second in a two horse title race what we aren’t considered to be in.

Son Heung-min again came to Tottenham’s rescue as he struck the late winner against the Magpies, which was the third consecutive Premier League game in which Spurs had put the ball in the back of the net within the final ten minutes to win a match.
