Tottenham Hotspur have this evening confirmed the arrival of Giovani Lo Celso.
The midfielder moves to North London from Real Betis on a season-long loan deal with Spurs having the option to make the deal permanent.
Lo Celso, who has 19 caps for Argentina, joined Betis on a permanent deal in April after spending the season on loan from Paris St-Germain. He made 45 appearances for the La Liga club in all competitions last season, scoring 16 goals.
The 23-year-old had been linked with a move to Spurs since even before Mauricio Pochettino’s side had faced Liverpool in the Champions League final on June 1st and they have finally got their man (BBC).
The capture of the midfielder is certainly a major boost to Tottenham’s attacking hopes given his record in La Liga Last season.
Spurs fans have been taking to Twitter to react to news of the announcement of Lo Celso’s arrival.
Giovani's magic, he wears a magic hat!
We tried to sign Dybala, but they said no fuck that!
With Sonny on his left, and Moura on his right!
We'll fuck them in the Champions League, and sign this song all night!— EM (@tottenbacon) 8 August 2019
