“Sell up ENIC” – Some Spurs fans share three-word reactions to Southampton loss

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to share their verdicts of the defeat to Southampton in just three words.

2020 has started in the worst possible way for Spurs, who once again passed up the opportunity to close the gap on Chelsea who were held to a 1-1 draw at Brighton earlier in the day.

It was a diabolical display from Jose Mourinho’s side who were second best to the Saints all over the pitch.

To add to Tottenham’s misery, star striker Harry Kane hobbled off the pitch in the second half clutching the back of his left leg with what appears to be a hamstring injury and was replaced by Erik Lamela.

Tottenham’s hopes of finishing in the top four for a fifth successive season are now seriously under threat.

Here’s how some fans reacted to the loss.

Opinion

It may be a new decade, but the performance from Spurs this afternoon was one of the worst in living memory. No passion, no creativity and weak at the back. Jose really will be the special one if he can turn things around in North London.
