Several clubs interested in Spurs playmaker confirms agent

The agent of Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen has revealed that there are several clubs interested in him, but he is instead focused on the upcoming World Cup and parenthood.

The fact that there are apparently several clubs keen on signing the Dane should not alarm Tottenham fans, we all know Eriksen’s quality and in reality most clubs in Europe would want him in their squad.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have been linked with a move for the 26-year-old, who has two years left to run on his existing deal at Spurs. Fans are hoping that Eriksen will be among those who will be offered a new deal this summer.

Hopefully Levy and co have learned their lesson with the Alderweireld saga and will offer deals to Eriksen, Vertonghen, Kane, Dele, Lloris and co. They deserve to be paid in line with our Premier League rivals.

Eriksen is the heartbeat of our side, without him we lack creativity in the final third of the pitch. He is the one who can unlock a defence with a pass and regularly puts Mesut Ozil in the shade with his assists record.

His agent Martin Schoots said: “The only thing I can say is that concerning the interest of several clubs in Christian is that we prefer not to comment.

“Christian wants to focus completely on the World Cup – just as he did before on qualifying for the Champions League with Spurs.

“But becoming a father for the first time very soon, there is even something bigger at the moment he is giving his attention to.”
