Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the news that Dele Alli is absent from today’s match against Inter Milan.

The Spurs Twitter account confirmed ahead of the International Champions Cup fixture at the 62,062 capacity seater stadium that the midfielder is sidelined due to a hamstring issue.

The severity of the injury has yet to be confirmed by the club but it must surely not put his chances of facing Aston Villa in the Premier League next Saturday evening in serious jeopardy.

Spurs fans will be hoping that the club can now hold onto Christian Eriksen as it would certainly be catastrophic to be without two of the squad’s most creative players going into a new campaign.

Dele’s injury has to surely increase the urgency to try and sign a new playmaker with headlines about Giovani Lo Celso and Bruno Fernandes continuing to dominate the headlines (Express).
