“Sisso-no” – Some Spurs fans react to midfielder’s injury

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted on social media after Moussa Sissoko picked up an injury against Manchester United.

The midfielder, who has looked like a completely different player this season injured his groin just before half time in the Premier League encounter at Wembley.

After receiving some treatment, the Frenchman tried to play on but had to be replaced by Erik Lamela not to risk further damage.

Sissoko’s injury is not only a blow due to the form he has been displaying, but also because of the injury issues which Mousa Dembele, Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama have experienced that have kept the trio sidelined for weeks on end.

Frustratingly, United took the lead just before the half time whistle when Marcus Rashford was released on the right side and drilled the ball low back across Hugo Lloris.

If this isn’t a wake up call for Daniel Levy to spend some money before the window closes, I don’t know what is.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. What’s the panic…at some stage we will look hard at Fourth as a defensive midfielder and be most appreciative. Cool head, lovely feet,

  2. Possibly Foyth will be a good player in midfield – but we need to buy some who is capable and ready NOW in this window.

With Sissoko presumably crocked, Wanyama miles off the first team, Dembele on his way (or injured anyway) and Dier yet to come back we now officially have a midfield crisis. I like Winks of course, but he needs support. Skipp has great potential and I see Lamela as more of a forward, same as Alli.

Deserved AT LEAST a point vs Utd just now. Some good approach play in second half but no-one had their shooting boots on today. De Gea made some good saves but too many shots/headers too close to him.
