Spurs look set to beat Chelsea and Arsenal to winger

Tottenham have made a £16m bid for Lille winger Sofiane Boufal, 22, who is also a target for Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Sofiane Boufal to Tottenham – the rumours

According to a report on French website Foot Mercato, they claim Mauricio Pochettino’s side have held advanced talks with Lille over a fee and have already offered Boufal a five-year contract to move to White Hart Lane.

The report suggests that Boufal prefers a move to White Hart Lane over our Premier League rivals and would represent a big coup for the player who has scored 12 goals in 31 outings for the Ligue 1 side this season.

Lille are said to value the Moroccan international at £16million along with some added bonus payments.

Before we get too excited, French newspaper L’Equipe claim Lille have yet to receive an official offer, but that Dortmund, Inter Milan, Spurs and Everton have all made enquiries to sign the player.

There’s no doubt that we will need some extra quality for our Champions League campaign, but it’s important that Mitchell, Levy and Pochettino bring in players who not only add value on the pitch but also off it.

I’d hate to see the current team spirit dissolve next season if we do bring in established, world class players.
