Spurs academy coach opens up on Levy and Poch’s relationship and transfer funds for the summer

Tottenham Hotspur academy coach Bradley Allen has given an insight into the relationship between Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy.

Pochettino has already revealed that he intends to hold talks with the chairman after the conclusion of Tottenham’s Champions League final against Liverpool on June 1st to discuss the next stage of his project and stated that the club cannot continue in the same manner as the last five years (Mirror).

Allen revealed that the pair have a healthy relationship and believes that money will be made available for Pochettino to strengthen his squad in the summer.

Worryingly for Spurs fans, Pochettino has publically stated that he would consider leaving the club at the end of the current campaign if he does not believe in Daniel Levy’s vision for the future (Guardian).

The Argentine continues to impress in North London after delivering a top four finish for the fourth successive season and supporters will certainly be hoping that Levy backs the manager in the transfer market.

“They do have a strong relationship,” Allen told BBC Radio 5 Live on (12/05/2019 at 2:05 pm) “I think there will be funds for him I am led to believe across the summer for new signings to come in. They had this quite unbelievable new stadium now for the supporters.

“The expectation levels are going to rise. Whether he can continue to do it in the same manner with some reduced playing squad compared to his competitors, I think that’s the point he’s trying to make. I think he will want a few new recruits if at all possible to come in and give them that depth in the squad if they are going to be challenging on a number of fronts.

When asked if the Spurs boss is more at home with getting the best out of young talent, he added: “Possibly he is. He did that previously at Southampton and Espanyol. You look at the way he has transformed Sissoko and Moura. He can improve players from within. Look at the performances of Son. They have gone up each season.”
