Spurs and Arsenal to battle for French forward

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are preparing to battle this summer for Manchester United forward Anthony Martial, according to the Sunday Mail.

The French international has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho and has found his opportunities limited this season.

Martial made a rare start for United in Friday night’s 1-0 defeat at Brighton and was not impressed with his forward line of Martial and Rashford who had stepped in for Romelu Lukaku.

Mourinho said: ‘The players that replaced others did not perform at a good level.
‘When individuals do that it is difficult for the team to play well. Maybe now you will not ask me why A, B and C do not play so much.

‘Why always Lukaku? Why always Lukaku? Why always Lukaku? You have the answer why always Lukaku.’

United paid £36 million to Monaco in 2015 for the now 22-year-old and would want at least double their investment back.

Tottenham are crying out for attacking options, it is plain for everyone to see that when Harry Kane is not on his game, we do not have anyone else who can fill the void and we struggle to score. Just look at the last few games as evidence.
