Spurs confirm capture of former Arsenal and Chelsea pair on one-year deal

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of former Chelsea defender Marcel Lavinier and ex-Arsenal stopper Tobi Omole.

Lavinier, a 19-year-old full back was released by the Stamford Bridge outfit in June (The Sun) with Spurs confirming in their match report following Saturday’s 2-1 win against Southampton in Premier League 2 that he along with former Arsenal central defender Tobi Omole had penned respective deals until the end of the current campaign.

Lavinier, who grew up close to Chelsea’s stadium also holds dual citizenship and has played at U18 level for Portugal (Chelsea official).

French outfit Lyon took the player on trial in August having featured for their B team but he did not secure a permanent switch to France.

Lavinier first appeared for Tottenham’s Under-23 side on trial when they took on North London rivals Arsenal at their at London Colney training base with Rodel Richards scoring the winner just past the hour mark for Wayne Burnett’s side (Spurs official).
