Spurs confirm first player to leave on transfer deadline day

Ryan Sessegnon has completed a season long loan move to German club Hoffenheim.

Tottenham made the decision earlier in the transfer window to sign left-back Sergio Reguilon earlier in the transfer window to provide competition for Ben Davies, which has seen Sessegnon fail to make an appearance this season despite the club’s hectic fixture schedule.

The England Under-21 international was said to be a man in demand with Hertha Berlin, Red Bull Leipzig, Celtic, Brighton, Southampton, Barcelona and Ajax having all been keen to take him for the season.

The Mail claim that despite the 20-year-old heading out of the exit door, Spurs still consider Sessegnon to be a long-term part of their plans with the stipulation that any loan agreement did not include the option or obligation to make the deal permanent.

Sessegnon wil now get the opportunity of playing regular first-team football in the Bundesliga along with the prospect of playing in the Europa League.
