Spurs confirm midfielder deal

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they have reached an agreement to sign Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis on a permanent basis.

The Argentine moved to North London in the summer on an initial loan deal which included the option to make the deal permanent, which the club have now taken up.

Lo Celso has signed a five-year contract which will keep him with the Champions League finalists until the summer of 2025.

The midfielder suffered a stop start beginning to life at Spurs after picking up a hip injury whilst on international duty which ruled him out of action for six weeks.

The 23-year-old has started to come into his own in his last two appearances against Norwich City and Southampton.

Jose Mourinho revealed after the 1-1 draw against Southampton in the FA Cup at the weekend that the club would be taking up the option following his impressive displays (Standard).
