Spurs confirm striker has left on loan

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that academy player Shilow Tracey has joined Macclesfield Town on loan until the end of the season.

Tracey has joined The Silkmen who are currently 22nd in League Two and face a battle to retain their status in the division.

The striker signed from non-league Ebbsfleet Town in January 2016 and has become a regular for Tottenham’s under-23s, having made 16 appearances this season but has only registered one goal.

Tracey follows a number of team-mates who have headed out on loan this month including Brandon Austin, Anthony Georgiou, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Armando Shashoua.

He made his senior debut in a first team pre-season friendly match away to Girona in August, 2018, but has not appeared for the club in a competitive senior fixture.

Opinion

At 21, first team football will certainly benefit Tracey and hopefully prove that he can go on and have a career at a lower level.
