Spurs confirm that midfielder has left club on season-long loan

Tottenham Hotspur have this afternoon confirmed that Jack Clarke has joined Championship outfit Stoke City on loan for the remainder of the season.

Clarke made his last appearance for Tottenham when he came on as a second half substitute in Sunday’s 5-0 FA Cup win against non-league Marine.

The 20-year-old winger is said to have impressed Jose Mourinho after training with the first team (Football.London) and has now decided to send him back to the Championship to gain further experience of playing senior football.

The youngster has found opportunities hard to come by in North London with the likes of Lucas Moura, Gareth Bale and Steven Bergwijn ahead of him in the pecking order.

Last season, Clarke started the season on loan at Leeds United following his switch from the Elland Road outfit before a lack of opportunities saw him recalled in January and was subsequently sent to QPR where he also struggled for game time.
