Spurs defender likely to head out on loan this month

Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers could be set for another loan spell away from the club to continue his footballing education.

The big central defender went to Bramall Lane spending first half of last season on loan at Sheffield United, where he made 18 appearances, scoring on his debut against Bolton Wanderers.

He then made the move to Portman Road where he joined fellow Championship outfit side Ipswich Town on loan for the remainder of the season in January. He went on to make a further 17 appearances in the Championship for the Tractor Boys.

According to TWTD, the 20-year-old could return to Ipswich Town before the end of the month with the recruitment of a central defender high on their shopping list.

With Toby Alderweireld remaining a Spur, it means that Carter-Vickers and Juan Foyth have to battle it out to be fourth-choice in the central defensive pecking order behind Jan Vertonghen, Davinson Sanchez and Alderweireld.

Whilst the USA international is currently sidelined with a groin injury, he is expected to be fit again before the close of the loan window.
