Spurs defender set to sign new deal

Tottenham Hotspur are set to hand a new contract to right-back Kyle Walker-Peters.

The youth graduate put in a man of the match performance on the opening day of the season in the win at Newcastle United, but has found first team football hard to come by.

The 21-year-old is behind Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier in the defensive pecking order which has limited him to just eight appearances this season.

Walker-Peters has two years to run on his existing deal, but such is the impression he has made on Mauricio Pochettino, is set to be rewarded with an improved contract, Spurs sources told ESPN.

Personally I think he needs to go out on loan next season if he is going to have another campaign of limited game time to help progress his game even further.
