Spurs defender tipped for exit this month

Leeds United are rumoured to be ready to make a move to bring in Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth, according to the Birmingham Mail.

Foyth has missed all of Tottenham’s pre-season and the opening two matches due to a thigh injury he picked up in a behind closed doors match against Brentford in July.

Leeds are now managed by Marco Bielsa, who signed Pochettino as a 14-year-old in their native Argentina. The Spurs boss refers to Bielsa as being like his second father and credits him as being a very important person in his career.

Foyth currently finds himself behind the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Davinson Sanchez in the central defensive pecking order at Spurs and would benefit from regular Championship football, which is something that his team-mate Cameron Carter-Vickers also looks set to do with Swansea City and Ipswich Town both said to be interested in taking the USA international on loan.

There is no doubt that if Foyth makes the move to Elland Road, he would be playing under the right manager in Pochettino’s eyes.
