Spurs earmark Vardy for January swoop

Tottenham are plotting a surprise January swoop for Leicester’s in-form England striker Jamie Vardy, 28 but may have to compete with Liverpool who are also interested.

According to the Mirror, Mauricio Pochettino has earmarked the striker who has scored in his last seven Premier League games fits in with Tottenham’s high-pressing style of play and would add the ideal foil alongside Harry Kane.

The report claims that Leicester City value the 28-year-old at £15million, it would be unlikely that Daniel Levy would pay any more for a player of his age.

There is an obvious need for another striker to join the ranks at White Hart Lane after missing out on West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino during the summer window, it looks as if Vardy has made himself to the top of the shopping list.
