Spurs explain why Ndombele and Winks miss out against Burnley

Tottenham Hotspur had two notable absentees from their squad to take on Burnley in the Premier League this afternoon.

The midfield duo of Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Winks were both missing from Jose Mourinho’s side of sixteen players for the clash in North London.

The Spurs official Twitter account have now posted an update explaining why the two players will not face the Clarets.

Ndombele, who appeared as a late replacement against Manchester United on Wednesday evening has suffered a groin injury while Harry Winks, who started the match at Old Trafford has an ankle problem.

Winks’ place in the starting eleven for today’s fixture has been taken by Eric Dier. The England international was left out of the match on Wednesday after appearing in all three of Jose Mourinho’s first matches in charge.

Tottenham will be looking to get their aim of putting the pressure on the top four back on track, especially with Chelsea having lost at Everton.
