Spurs face competition for transfer target

Watford manager Javi Gracia does not know if Abdoulaye Doucoure will remain at Vicarage Road amid interest from Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham.

The 25-year-old midfielder has caught the eye of Premier League rivals this season for his Mousa Dembele-like performances.

Doucoure is be impressing at the heart of Watford’s midfield and has developed considerably since initially struggling to establish himself in the Premier League.

“I think he is very happy with the team, the supporters and the club,” Gracia said.

“I do not know what will happen in the future. If he will sign a new contract, if he will stay with us a long time I do not know.”

Doucoure has scored seven goals in 30 appearances for Watford this season, but Gracia believes there is more to come.

“He is a very good player and he can do better,” the Hornets boss added.

“I have tried to explain to him many things that he can improve but at this moment, this season, he is a very good player.

“He has a very good attitude and helps the team all of the time with a good mentality and attitude.”
