Spurs learn who they could face in the Europa League play-off

The draw for the fourth qualifying round of the Europa League has taken place this morning at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

The draw is taking place before the tournament’s third qualifying round due to the fact that the season getting began later than usual, which has resulted in draws are being held earlier to make up for the lost time.

Tottenham narrowly navigated their way past Bulgarian outfit Lokomotiv Plovdiv last night with two late goals to secure a 2-1 victory and will now face Macedonian side Shkëndija in the third round, with the tie taking place at the City Stadium of Tetovo next Thursday.

Should Jose Mourinho’s side beat Shkëndija, they will take on Rostov or Maccabi Haifa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the fourth qualifying round with the winner advancing to the UEFA Europa League group stage.

Spurs secured Europa League football on the final day of the 2019-20 season, but Arsenal’s FA Cup win subsequently forced them into the qualifiers.
